Camp Doros
Camp Doros is deliberately small and intimate, and it is positioned in a hotspot for desert-adapted black rhino, with activities centred on tracking black rhino with an experienced and qualified Rhino Ranger staff. Camp Doros is set on a high bank in the midst of Damaraland, overlooking a (usually) dry riverbed and forests of Mopane trees.
As this camp is shielded from the prevailing winds, it has the smallest environmental footprint of any camp in Namibia. Six covered guest tents (one of which is a family unit) are erected on platforms and equipped with twin and limited double beds, cabinets, solar electricity for lights and charging stations, hot running showers, and en- suite flush toilets. A wide common area with a bar serving area, dining room, lounge with fires and a campfire terrace, as well as a welcome plunge pool and sun deck, is also available at the camp. The emphasis is on personalised service delivery, which includes nutritious and delectable meals produced in a solar and wood-fired kitchen. The camp's focus is on immersive exploration of this incredible area.
