Lake Baringo has more than 300 hippos and on the shores are plenty of crocodiles. The lake also boasts fish eagles that the local guides feed. Apart from the fish eagles, the region is renowned for its species of birds. Lake Baringo has brown water due to siltation and underground outlets. The water has fluoride and most residents have brown teeth as a result. The lodge is ideal for couples on a romantic getaway, business retreats and conferences.
Soi Safari Lodge has a variety of activities to choose from including field excursions and boat rides to the geysers and hot springs. The local tour guides educate guests about the beautiful landscape. The boat rides take guests to the seven islands on the lake, which are inhabited by the Njemps. Other activities include fishing, rowing, water skiing and visits to Devil’s Island by boat and the reptile park. If guests are not adventurous, they may opt to stay at the hotel as it offers entertainment in the form of traditional dancers and disco music.
