Lake Baringo is world renowned for the vast array of bird species found on the lake. Guests are likely to spot verreaux’s eagle owls, hammerkops, storks, hornbills, and fish eagles around the lake. While at the camp, guests are able to spot weavers, starlings, and sunbirds. At night hippos come out and guests are able to hear them, sometimes with young, grazing on the lawns and returning to the water in the day. Often guests may seem to see floating logs, however, they may be crocodiles.

Cultural visits are organised for guests where they are able to engage in the daily lifestyle of the Tugen, Pokot and the Njemps people. Other excursions include visits to islands, Lake Bogoria and Tugen Hills.
