Sand River Camp is located in the vast Selous Game Reserve of southern Tanzania and offersluxurious open-fronted rooms close to nature. Fabulous sight seeing of the river's residents, great birding , and mammal watching are done as well as visits to Stieglers Gorge, Kidai Island, Hot Springs and Lake Tagalala.

During the dry season a lot of the wildlife come to drink from the fast flowing Rufiji River as water becomes non existent in the surrounding bush, this makes for exceptional game viewing. Leopard sightings are also not uncommon near Steiglers Gorge.
