Sand River Camp Game Viewing and Activities

Game drives, walking safaris, fishing, boating, or a combination of all of these can be done at Sand River. The view is accompanied by soundtracks of birds and animal sounds; fish eagles, emerald spotted wood doves, ring necked doves, hippos. Small herds of animals appear on the river banks; waterbuck, elephant, buffalo. View massive crocodiles sunning themselves on the sand banks and Hippo's wallowing in the shallow water. During the dry season a lot of the wildlife come to drink from the fast flowing Rufiji River as water becomes non existent in the surrounding bush, this makes for exceptional game viewing. Leopard sightings are also not uncommon near Steiglers Gorge.
