Serian 'The Original'
Serian was Alex's first camp, and its name wonderfully encapsulates its essence: meaning 'quiet, tranquil, serene' in Masai, it was created to offer a respite from the hustle and bustle of modern life, as well as a chance to experience wild Africa in traditional tented grandeur. It is located in the exclusive Mara North Conservancy, and the beauty of this site is that only ten other camps have access to it, so having your own little piece of Africa is a luxury that we enjoy in abundance.
Serian is made up of five massive marquees set on gorgeous oak decking, one of which is a family suite. Each is unique in its own way, yet they are all outfitted with exquisite simplicity and innumerable thoughtful tiny personal touches that make it seem like home. As you relax in your tub in the lovely bush bathrooms, you may enjoy views of the river valley, simulating the exquisite experience of being outdoors. They are light and airy, with a shower, a large bath, twin basins, and a flushing toilet. Comfy furniture, smooth wooden decks, and an indoor fireplace create a nice sensation of home away from home - and the aim is to enjoy it as such, so sit back, prop up your feet, and succumb to Serian's nightlife's mellow environment and good company.

There are a variety of activities on offer at Serian ‘The Original’ including daily game drives where each party has their own open-top safari vehicle, as well as their own personal guide and spotter, which is the cornerstone of a safari experience at Serian. The freedom this gives guests is essential for making the most of your stay: go wherever the day takes you, whether it's a full day out with a picnic in the wilderness or a nice siesta back in camp before that ice-cold sundowner. The experienced guides know the landscape well and will translate and depict it until you view it through their eyes.
