The Zambezi River is home to a wide range of freshwater fish, most of which can be caught on rod and reel. The most famous of these is undoubtedly the fighting Tiger Fish, large specimens of which abound in the waters around Chewore Lodge and Campsite. Fishing expeditions are guided by experienced fishing guides who are able to ensure that visitors are exposed to the finest fishing opportunities available in the area. Chewore offers some of the most rewarding bird viewing opportunities in Zimbabwe with over 400 known bird species residing in Chewore's diverse habitats consisting of wetlands, thornveld, bushveld, savannah and riverine forest.
