Nehimba Lodge Highlights

One of the best parts of life at Nehimba Lodge is the presence of elephants, which are attracted to the water located in front of the lodge, and are also known to turn the guest plunge pool into a mud bath at times! This classic Zimbabwean safari lodge has nine thatched bedrooms, which flank the main living and dining area of the lodge, each looking onto the busy waterhole. Any of Hwange’s array of wild animals are invited to come right into the lodge grounds, as it is unfenced, so there is a high chance of spotting some exciting species from the deck while enjoying breakfast, or listening to the elephants drink in the dark at dinner time.

Nehimba Lodge Game Viewing and Activities

When wildlife is not coming to the camp itself, you can always go exploring on a game drive or guided walking safari! The abundance of elephants that visit during the dry season are attracted to the pan in front of the lodge, and even to the swimming pool itself, which brings them within an arm’s reach of the deck. The incredible game viewing at Nehimba doesn’t end there. There are daily game drives traversing this game-rich area of northern Hwange, where the mopane woodland meets the Kalahari sands. Sable antelope, lion, wild dog, and of course the elephants which are famously hunted by lions during the dry season some of the wildlife highlights to be seen. Night drives are also a special experience, taking place on the private concession, and walking safaris bring the wild outdoors into detail and can involve some adrenalin pumping wildlife encounters on foot!
