Chula Island Camp
Chula Island Camp was established in 2019 and is situated on Katengahumba Island, which is divided from the mainland by the renowned "Discovery" channel for canoeing. Unparalleled views of the Zambezi River are provided by this secluded and exclusive island. The opportunity to observe wildlife and explore the nature is unparalleled.
The magnificent Chula Island Camp is a tented camp with every luxury imaginable, yet it still has the spirit and philosophy of a real seasonal bush camp. Each of the camp's five guest tents, which can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests at once, is strategically placed to provide the greatest possible views of the Zambezi River. The Chula tents are made-to-order and incredibly cosy, complete with premium bedding and beds, flushing toilets, flowing water faucets, and classic bucket showers! For eating, reading, charging cameras, and wildlife viewing, a main area stretch-canvas tent nestled beneath enormous Natal Mahogany trees is the ideal setting.

Simply said, the Lower Zambezi offers some of the best big game wildlife watching in Africa. This, together with the range of safari activities available and the aesthetics of the park, combine to create a truly stunning wildlife display. As the dry season begins, huge herds of buffalo and impala, as well as high densities of elephant, congregate on the valley floor. All of the expected large predators are present, with lion, leopard, and wild dog populations being especially well-represented. The giraffe may be the sole obvious omission, but a nighttime safari searching for honey badger and aardvark should make you forget about our long-necked pals!
