This new property is located near to the Kibale National Park in Uganda, which is home to around 1,500 chimps, making it one of Africa's largest chimp colonies.This development completes Volcanoes Safaris' existing circuit of great ape lodges. It will provide a seamless safari throughout Rwanda and Uganda, allowing travellers to experience the Albertine Rift's distinctive gorilla, chimp, and fauna
This lodge has been created with care to highlight the unique features of its 150-acre site, which is dominated by a granite outcrop with breath-taking views of the Queen Elizabeth plains and the Kazinga waterway. Its grounds also include a lake. From the main ridge line, looking west, the site offers spectacular panoramic views of the snow-covered peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon). The verdant homesteads of the Kabarole area, with its inviting temperate environment, surround the area. Kibale Lodge will comprise of eight deluxe rooms and a villa, plus a spa, sauna and pool. The area us surrounded by lush homesteads of the Kabarole region, with its welcoming temperate climate.

Kibale Lodge is ideally located for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale, as well as visits to community initiatives and walking safaris through the lovely countryside to local homesteads. The property is an hour's drive from Fort Portal, a historic hill town, and an hour from the Kasese airfield, from where regular flights to and from Entebbe and other Volcanoes hotels depart. The chimpanzee tracking base in the Kibale Forest is roughly a thirty-minute drive away.
