Tarkuni Homestead, although an exclusive-use residence, has access to all safari activities at Tswalu. The landscape is predominantly rolling dunes surround by flat grasslands. The steep Korannaberg mountain serves as the backdrop to this exceptional reserve. Visitors can expect to see over 240 species of bird, and local specials such as African wild dogs, African wild cat, and aardwolf. One of the favourite past time of visitors is the guided walk to see the meerkats. Activities synonymous with an African safari experience are a given, and include game drives and immersive bush walks. For a more educational experience, guests can take part in the research and conservation foundation, run by leading conservationists. For a more opulent safari experience, guests can enjoy helicopter safaris, horse riding excursions, and historical walks to ancient rock art sites.
