Dedicated field guides and butlers allow guests to choose how they would like to structure their days at Tswalu; from breakfast in bed to a leisurely spa treatment in the comfort of own rooms overlooking the magnificence of the Kalahari. Thereafter enjoy a leisurely game drive, and indulge in a private gourmet picnic savouring the essence of Africa. There are truly exceptional species thriving at Tswalu; such as the Desert black rhino (this population represents one third of South Africa's population), famous black-maned Kalahari lions, endearing families of characterful meerkats, cheetah, and rare antelope species (roan, tsessebe, sable). Tswalu has a diversity of over 70 species of mammals and 230 species of birds, making game watching an absolute treat. Rare creatures, such as, the pangolin, aardvardk, aardwolf and porcupine are sighted on Tswalu Reserve. Aside from game drives, guests will also have the opportunity to do walking safaris, during the day and at night, giving them the experience of the Kalahari on foot. Another highlight at Tswalu is the desert horse-back safaris, which take guests over the famous red dunes and offer a truly remarkable perspective.
