Sanctuary Makanyane Safari Lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve is an intimate, personal and welcoming lodge, nestled in a riverside forest. Each of the eight luxurious suites have glass walled bedrooms so guests can continuously enjoy the natural surroundings. Each suite is artfully designed from local wood, stone and thatch to blend into bush. The suites are secluded, have air-conditioning, private viewing across the Madikwe Bush and have bathrooms that can be opened to the outside.
There is a gorgeous infinity pool, a gym and a beauty treatment centre, all creating a magical safari getaway. For the more adventurous, there is a sleep out under the stars! Sanctuary Makanyane Safari Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Madikwe Game Reserve is South Africa's second largest game reserve and home to an incredible array of wildlife. The species that populate Madikwe include lion, leopard, black rhino and white rhino as well as large herds of elephant and buffalo. The rare African wild dog, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, giraffe, zebra and numerous antelope species also roam the reserve. Over 340 bird species also make their home in Madikwe which sprawls across richly varied eco-zones, from rocky peaks, across open grasslands, to verdant valleys, each zone with its own distinctive inhabitants. Experienced rangers will accompany guests on all game drives and guided bush walks.
