Waterbuck Lodge can also be booked on an exclusive basis for small groups or families travelling together wanting complete privacy. Accommodation is luxurious and the lodge caters for only 8 guests at a time. There is a busy waterhole next to the camp attracting an abundance of wildlife and providing exciting wildlife viewing opportunities. Activities include game drives as well as nature walks accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers.

Waterbuck Lodge Game Viewing and Activities

Thornybush offers guests an exclusive safari experiences and game viewing activities include game drives in open Land Rovers as well as bush walks accompanied by expert rangers and trackers. The private reserve is home to an abundance of species: 147 mammals including the "Big Five", 114 reptiles, 507 birds, 49 fish, 34 amphibians and 336 trees. The reserve is predominantly open savannah and with a near perfect year round climate, it is the ideal African safari holiday destination. Game viewing at Waterbuck Lodge compares with the best in the world and guests can expect to see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other general game on game drives and bird watching in the area is fantastic. The day begins with a game drive of approximately four hours, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. The night game viewing is an experience of its own. Nocturnal sightings might include bush babies, the elusive genet, or predators hunting and stalking their prey.
