Chalkley Treehouse
The Lion Sands Chalkley Treehouse is a 10 minute drive from Lion Sands Ivory Lodge and Lion Sands River Lodge, and is completely secluded and private. The Field ranger does not accompany the guests at the Treehouse, as it is designed to be a totally secluded.
Chalkley Treehouse Highlights
This completely private treehouse, built around a majestic 500 year-old Leadwood Tree, was erected at the original site where Lion Sands founding father, Guy Aubrey Chalkley, climbed into the trees and set up camp to escape from predators roaming the plains below. The Lion Sands Chalkley Treehouse is a 10 minute drive from Lion Sands Ivory Lodge and Lion Sands River Lodge, and is completely secluded and private. The Field ranger does not accompany the guests at the Treehouse, as it is designed to be a totally secluded and offers guests a uniquely private safari experience under the stars. Once guests are dropped off at the Treehouse, they can expect to be completely alone with only the majestic sounds of the wild and the distant Sabie River filling the night air.

- At dawn, guests are collected for a morning game drive.
- May opt to forego evening game drive in order to spend sunset at the Treehouse for a private dinner.

Chalkley Treehouse Game Viewing and Activities
The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is world renowned for offering fantastic game viewing opportunities. With no fences between the reserve and the Kruger Park, big game is abundant, moving freely through this unspoiled part of the ancient African continent. The Reserve offers an incredible biodiversity of habitat and wildlife giving an excellent chance of close encounters with the 'Big Five', elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard as well as wild dog and cheetah. The bird-life in the reserve is prolific and offers over 300 bird species. Activities include day and night game drives in open 4x4 Land Rovers as well as bush walks accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers.
