Nyungwe House is a retreat that explores not only the popular primate trekking activities that have become famous in this part of southwestern Rwanda, but uncovers the beauty of the resort’s immediate location through various forest walks, birding trails, challenging hikes, immersive cultural activities, sublime food and dining experiences, restorative yoga and spa treatments. It can be as private and reflective as you’d like, or it can be full of action and exciting wildlife encounters and cultural explorations. Food is an experience in itself with a dining room, tea lounge, and elegant bar lounge, plus picnics, private dining, and poolside snacks adding to the eating activities at Nyungwe. In the national park, expertly guided chimpanzee and colobus monkey trekking are amazing for local wildlife viewing, while helicopter tours give you the most incredible view of the forest and tea plantation from above.
