Sosian Ranch is a beautifully restored colonial style African ranch built in the 1940s on the Laikipia Plateau in Northern Kenya. It has seven cottages in the tropical garden overlooking Mount Kenya and miles of unspoiled African bush. Sosian is a 24,000 acre private ranch in the heart of Laikipia, a vast expanse of wilderness in the heart of Kenya’s highlands and home to a huge diversity of mammals and birds. The ranch house was built in the 1940’s by Italian artisans, and has recently been restored.

Sosian Ranch Game Viewing and Activities
With its homely atmosphere, Sosian welcomes families and children of all ages. There is a vast range of activities available to introduce children to the adventurous surroundings, as well as, educating them about the environment. Some favourite activities include jumping off the waterfall; riding lessons and short treks on the trained horses and ponies; camel rides; fishing; archery; picnics; feeding the pet eland; tubing down the river and simply enjoying the wide open spaces. Most commonly, guests are kept busy on game drives, walks, horse riding, camel riding, and fly camping. There are open plains to the north and dense scrublands to the south, and there is a variety of habitat here, supporting plenty of game with Grevy’s zebra, Grant’s gazelle, elephant and buffalo often seen. Cheetah, lion and wild dog have also been spotted in the area.
