The Garden Route

The Garden Route is a popular and scenic stretch of the south-eastern coast of South Africa. The name comes from the verdant and ecologically diverse vegetation encountered here and the numerous lagoons and lakes dotted along the coast. It includes towns such as Mossel Bay, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Plettenberg Bay and Nature's Valley; with George, the Garden Route's largest city and main administrative centre.

The Garden Route is diverse and has something for everyone. Guests can visit one of the luxury Game Reserves or explore the area which includes attractions like The Cango Caves; this fortress of corridors and dripstone formations is the result of a geological flaw in the Swartberg Mountains, formed by the merging of hundreds of thousands of years of time, water and natural chemistry. Monkeyland is a sanctuary set up in an untouched natural forest, home to chimpanzees and ape species from all over the world

The Elephant Sanctuary provides a safe haven for elephants and offers a unique platform for guest education and interaction. The Elephant Sanctuary is a family orientated operation catering for both young and old and the emphasis is on education through interaction.
