Perfectly located on the famous Kelele Square, Beyt Al Chai allows guests to experience the ambience of the famous Stone Town in quite a tranquil setting overlooking a beautiful grassy square filled with Hibiscus and Neem trees. In contrast to many of the other buildings in the square, this house has always been a home and has kept its soul and the knowledge, welcoming visitors into a real home environment. Soak up the ambiance of this World Heritage Site only steps away from the shops, restaurants and attractions of contemporary Zanzibar.
Activities include excursions to Stone Town with its winding streets, beautiful houses and museums, to Jozani Forest, home to the Red Colobus monkey, extensive water sports, round-the-island trips, scuba diving and snorkelling, day-boat trips to nearby beaches and islands and native Arab-influenced entertainment in the evenings. Guests at the Beyt al Chai can experience big game fishing from any of our two beach resorts. The restaurant, simply called the Beyt al Chai Restaurant, opened only in May 2007 but is already considered the finest dining establishment within Zanzibar's Stone Town.
