Rio Azul Lodge is located on the banks of the Govuro River in Mozambique, near the town of Vilanculos. The Govuro River runs north from Vilanculos and past Inhassoro and enters the sea at Bartholomew Diaz point, at the northern end of the Bazaruto Archipelago. Rio Azul Lodge offers good quality fishing opportunity including exciting estuary fishing, brilliant surf fishing and some of the finest offshore fishing in Mozambique. It is ideal for fishermen who enjoy a variety of fishing techniques from fly-fishing, to light tackle lure fishing, surf fishing and deep-sea fishing. Although Rio Azul is primarily a fishing lodge, the lodge also offers good bird watching opportunities and has a wide range of beach holiday activities that will keep the whole family entertained. Beach activities include kayaking, bird watching, boating adventures and snorkeling. We also offer a great fine dining experience and luxurious facilities.
