On this 8 night safari, you will explore the best of South Africa’s KwaZulu natal safari areas. Start with your first night at the beautiful Oyster Box Hotel. From there you will travel by road to Phinda Private Game Reserve for 4 nights at Phinda Mountain Lodge. Phinda is home to the big 5, cheetah and much more. It is a fantastic wildlife and luxury safari experience. From Phinda, you will drive to the Isimangaliso Wetland Park and stay on the beach at Thonga Beach Lodge for 3 nights. If you are travelling from November to February, you could be lucky to see the turtle’s breeding!

Day 1 to 2: Oyster Box Hotel , Durban.
On arrival at King Shaka International Airport, you will be transferred to the luxury boutique Oyster Box Hotel. Spend your first night in KwaZulu Natal on the beach of Umhlanga, just north of Durban. Enjoy a high tea overlooking the ocean and tropical gardens while you refresh from your travels.
Each room is spacious and classic in design with en suite bathrooms. The main hotel has pools and gardens to explore, along with an award-winning restaurant to dine in.
Day 2 to 6: Phinda Mountain Lodge , Phinda Private Game Reserve.
After a scrumptious breakfast, you will be collected and transferred by road along Kwa Zulu Natal’s picturesque roads to Phinda Private Game Reserve. Here you will spend 4 nights exploring the diverse terrain, in search of cheetah, lions, leopards, elephants, the endangered black rhino and much much more. Located in coastal forest activities include game drives, bush walks, rhino tracking, beach picnics and much more.
Phinda Mountain Lodge is perched above Phinda, with sprawling views across the beautiful landscape. Each cottage has a private deck and plunge pool, with classic and luxury fittings. The cottages are nestled into the mountain forests and have an outside shower.
Day 6 to 9: Thonga Beach Lodge , Isimangaliso Wetland Park
Following your morning game drive and brunch, you will be collected and taken by road to the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, home to the vast Lake St Lucia, colourful diving reefs and breeding turtles! Spend 3 nights in barefoot luxury at Thonga Beach Lodge in an ocean view room. If you visit between November and February you could be lucky to enjoy a nocturnal beach visit to witness the turtles lay their eggs. The lodge offers a host of additional activities, including a spa, diving, boat trips and so much more.
Each Ocean view room has a private deck overlooking the sea, with spacious and luxury rooms leading to en suite bathrooms. The main lodge area has swimming pools and deck areas on the beach to enjoy.
Day 9: Return to Durban Airport
Say goodbye to the beach as you head back towards King Shaka International Airport for your onward travel.
