The menus offer a selection of local cuisine from Karoo lamb and ostrich fillet to Knysna oysters accompanied by award-winning wines from the Cape Winelands which you will be travelling through. As the sky darkens, the day's smart-casual dress code gives way to a parade of elegant eveningwear in keeping with The Blue Train's classic and earthy African décor. Each meal is scored to a selection of tasteful background music, ranging from smooth jazz to light classical to the mellow tones of the Soweto String Quartet. The Blue Train is fully equipped to accommodate all dietary requirements, which should be specified when you make your reservation.
