There is nothing better than being out in the bush where nature surrounds you and all traces of modern life disappear. The plethora of sounds that you find in the bush becomes a soundtrack to game watching. The anticipation of what you could possibly see on a game drive is almost as exhilarating as seeing those phenomenal sightings. I love to visit new wildlife destinations and experiences, consistently amazed by the diverse wildlife and countries to visit in Africa.
The best sighting was of a young leopard in the Timbavati Game Reserve. She was spotted in a tall tree clearly on the hunt. Our guide and tracker took us 4x4ing in the bush to follow her while she hunted. We watched as she climbed up and down trees, made a few attempts and stalked through the bush. Early morning lighting made it even better! Just before this I had spent ages at a water hole while upwards of 30 elephants drank their fill, had a bath and spent time playing with each other. Magical! Another recent, once in a lifetime experience, was coming face to face with a large Silverback gorilla of Bwindi in Uganda. Their sheer size and gentleness with each other was amazing to witness.
