Palmwag Lodge offers a good location amongst romantic palm trees, breathtaking scenery and the opportunity to observe rare desert-adapted black rhino and elephant that roam this enormous and wild expanse. The area is renowned for offering peace and tranquillity combined with well priced luxurious accommodation and warm and friendly service.
Palmwag Lodge provides a variety of accommodation options from chalets to canvas-style tents all tastefully decorated. The bungalows are thatched, each tastefully furnished tent has its own en-suite bathroom facilities, soap, shampoo and insect repellent are supplied. The family units consist of two cottages/family units which can accommodate four guests in each unit; one unit with an en-suite room with a double bed and two single beds. Another unit comprises one double-bedded en-suite room with an extra bedroom containing two single beds. The tents are canvas-style on wooden platforms which allow for uninterrupted scenic views. Each tastefully furnished tent has its own en-suite bathroom facilities. Soap, shampoo and insect repellent are supplied in each tent. The lodge has a thatched restaurant, open for breakfast and dinner. There is bar as well as a swimming pool. Lunches at the pool bar are for your own account.
The 450 000-hectare Palmwag Concession, situated in the north-west region of Namibia, has a surprising array of wildlife and supports the largest free-roaming population of desert-adapted black rhino in Africa as well as desert adapted elephants. There are large populations of Hartman's mountain zebra, giraffe, oryx, springbok and kudu. The predator population is the largest outside of the Etosha National Park with over 100 lions, cheetah, leopard, brown and spotted hyena. Bird life is prolific and diverse with most of Namibia's endemics present. Activities include, rhino tracking on foot or by vehicle, night drives and full day outings (with a picnic lunch) on the concession.
