Erongo Wilderness Lodge is situated in the 20 000 hectare Erongo Mountain Nature Conservancy home to the beautiful Erongo Mountains as well as endemic plant and animal species. Erongo Wilderness Lodge is private and remote and offers luxurious tented accommodation, superb service and high quality guiding.
Erongo Wilderness Lodge offers 10 luxurious tented chalets, built on stilts. Each chalet offers privacy and exclusivity. The luxury Meru tents are located under thatched roofs for shade, en-suite bathrooms are built around the existing rocks and trees; private sundecks are available as well as a bush-style mini-bar, and magnificent setting. Erongo also offers a restaurant and lounge and the waterhole forms a central point, where guests van watch the wildlife at the floodlit waterhole from a viewing deck. During the day, the viewing deck offers spectacular views of the mountain landscape. A large, central fireplace, cosy lounge and 'mokoro' bar offers ample space for guests to relax and unwind. The lodge also has a swimming pool and a sundeck.
Activities at Erongo Wilderness Lodge include early morning as well as sunset walks accompanied by experienced and qualified guides. Walking is the best way to experience the beauty of the Erongo Mountains. The guides here are experienced and will share their knowledge of the local fauna, flora, and folklore on walks over granite domes and through rich valleys. Nature drives in open Land-cruisers are also available and occasional close encounters with the animals are experienced. Drives may include a visit to "Paula's Cave" - a secluded trove of beautiful and ancient rock art. Bird-watching is prolific in the area and a popular tourist attraction at Erongo Wilderness Lodge. The area around the lodge is home to over 50 different bird species. The abundance of water around the lodge in what is an otherwise dry area; also make it a haven for Plum-coloured Starlings, Glossy Starlings, Melba Finches, Rock Kestrels, Masked Weavers, Rock Buntings, Whitebellied Sunbirds and a whole host of others.
