Kids never learn! By Brett Thomson

Guests at Savanna recently witnessed a great leopard sighting. They were on a morning game drive when they discovered a leopard staking out a warthog burrow. They were treated to an to an incredible scene when he lay in ambush for the warthog at a termite mound. The warthog emerged twice, and on each occasion the leopard bided his time waiting for the exact right moment to pounce. Then, as with most kids, one of the piglets wanted to see what his Mom was worried about and emerged to do his own investigations. Unfortunately for him, his investigations took him directly into the path of one of Africa’s supreme hunters. The mother warthog immediately tried to defend her youngster, and the leopard had to do some acrobatics to avoid being injured by her, but unfortunately it was too late.

One couple, Albert and Anna-Mari van der Vyver, managed to capture the footage.

Can you spot the leopard? It’s on the right!
