Tshwene Lodge Description
Tshwene Lodge is surrounded by rocky outcrops and is a secluded lodge situated in the rugged valley of the Taaibos River. The five luxurious suites all offer spectacular views of the valleys below and the hills beyond. Double rooms have en-suite bathrooms, indoor and private outdoor showers, a secluded entertainment area with breathtaking views. The main facilities include two lounges, pool, indoor and outdoor dining areas set on a huge wooden patio. All meals are prepared by a local chef and cuisine is outstanding.
Tshwene Lodge Game Viewing
Welgevonden Private Game Reserve boasts prolific birdlife; the reserve has become a sanctuary for many rare animals offering incredible game viewing. Game drives are conducted on an open 4x4 vehicle. The 460km of roads traverse the entire reserve and ensure minimal contact with other reserve visitors whilst on game drives. Following one of the largest game relocation programmes ever undertaken on private land, Welgevonden once again became home to the "big five", lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. This reserve has many species of antelope, zebra, giraffe, baboon, hyena and wild dog; perennial waters hide crocodile and offers sustenance to a huge variety of birds. Take a game drive safari at dawn or dusk, and experience the excitement of the big five and so much more, up close. Night game drives are a highlight and gourmet dinners are served in the traditional boma.
