KWA-MBILI SAFARI LODGE
Thornybush Game Reserve
Kruger Park South Africa
Introduction
Kwa-Mbili Lodge is situated in the Thornybush Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park. The area is home to an enormous variety of bird and game species. Kwa Mbili Lodge is an intimate and friendly bush lodge, where the emphasis is on individualised service, traditional bush cuisine and a warm and relaxing atmosphere.
Lodge Description
Kwa-Mbili accommodates a maximum of ten guests per day only in order to ensure exclusivity and intimacy. The thatched chalets have their own en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and wash-basin. A patio allows guests to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the African bush. For the more ethnic-at heart; the safari tents are furnished with either double or single beds. Every safari tent has its own en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. The safari tents have thatched roofs over them to protect them from too much sun as well as shelter the bathroom areas from rain and also offer guests sheltered patio areas.
Additional facilities at the lodge include, a bar and curio shop, comfortable hide overlooking a water hole, a filtered splash pool, telephone, fax and e-mail facilities as well as a laundry service.
Game Viewing
Kwa-Mbili is part of the "Big 5" Thornybush Nature Reserve which offers abundant game and bird species. Guests can expect to see lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino as well as a multitude of general game and other smaller creatures. On a typical day at Kwa Mbili, guests depart on a late afternoon game drive, enjoy sundowners in the bush, and continue on an exciting night game drive. This is followed by dinner at the lodge, and a relaxing evening under African skies around the camp-fire. The following morning, guests may depart on the early morning game drive. Coffee/tea and traditional rusks are served in the bush after which the safari is continued on foot or by vehicle. Emphasis is placed on the small things in the bush, learning to track animals, how termites live, what the various trees and plants are used for, etc. By exploring this small universe on foot, you will truly look at nature in a different light.
