A warm welcomed trip in Cape Town and Kruger – Guest feedback by Liselle Raath

Liselle prepared a trip for her guests jeff & Dolly to Cape Town and Kruger where they stayed at More Quarters Hotel, Arathusa Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, nThambo Tree Camp in the Klaserie Nature Reserve and Tanda Tula Safari Camp in the Timbavati Reserve. Dolly & Jeff shared the following guest feedback: “Hi Liselle, Our trip to South Africa was amazing!!!!  Thanks so much for your excellent work arranging all the details for us!!! Itinerary Our itinerary worked great for us.  Loved Cape Town, and could have enjoyed more days, but our first priority was the bush.  Having 11 nights at 3 different locations was perfect.  It really allowed us enough time to see everything we had hoped for–and much more.  At each of the lodges we saw people go home after 3 days having missed lions or hippos or leopards.  Our longer time allowed us to see everything we wanted in a variety of settings.  Then the last few days, we twice saw the wild dogs hunting. . .way beyond our expectations! Time of year February was a great time to visit.  As you had told us, it was warm but not horribly hot.  There was a bit of intermittent rain, but it did not stop us from anything.  The lush green landscape and the migratory birds were quite a bonus. Accommodations More Quarters More Quarters is such a lovely boutique hotel.  They upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite, making it very spacious.   Love the contemporary design and thoughtful details.    Hospitality is welcoming and helpful, and the breakfasts were best of the trip!  We particularly enjoyed the great neighbourhood. Safari lodges All 3 are wonderful, each in its own way.  Food is very good and more than plentiful.  Rooms are extremely clean and well maintained.  Hospitality is warm and well planned.   We saw amazing wildlife at all three locations.  At Arathusa leopards and lots of other game, big and small.  At Nthambo we were glad to have built in an extra day.  Tanda Tula showed us the best wildlife experiences. Arathusa The setting on the hippo pond provides an excellent spot to enjoy long afternoons.  Hippos, birds, and grazing animals give an ongoing show there.  Morning and evening drives were very exciting, with wildlife sightings plentiful and impressive.  Leopards every day!  Air conditioning was a plus. Nthambo The appeal here is the warm, intimate hospitality and the charming treehouse units.  Our fellow travelers were a great mix of nationalities from all continents, and probably the most fun and adventurous we met.  We had very memorable and unique  sightings (African Wild Cat, poisonous tree...

Natasha sent her guests Tamara and Mona on a trip to Botswana where they visited Haina Kalahari Lodge in the Central Kalahari, Machaba Camp in the Moremi Game Reserve, Ghoha Hills and Chobe Elephant Camp in Chobe National Park. Mona shared the following guest feedback regarding their trip: “Hi, Natasha I have just returned to New York while Tamara is making her way to her next destination and wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip to the various parts of Botswana! We had an amazing time and loved all of the places you had picked for us as well as all of the camps! We had a particularly amazing time in Machaba, where the temporary manager, Andrew and his wife who was visiting with their baby made our stay particularly fun! We also loved our guide Moreri! But it was very hard to compare and we truly loved all of the sites, camps, camp managers and staff! We also thank you for having planned our itinerary from “South” to North” which has truly made a difference!! We had amazing game sighting, learned about birds, met some wonderful people and enjoyed every moment! Needless to say that between Tamara and I, we have thousands of pictures but in particular amazing memories that we will carry for a very long time!! Many thanks again! With best regards,...

An amazing time in the bush – Guest feedback by Natasha Allan

Natasha sent her guest Petra and friends on a trip to the Kruger where they visited Nottens Bush Camp, Idube Game Lodge, Arathusa Safari Lodge, Nkorho Bush Lodge and Motswari Game Lodge. Petra shared the following guest feedback: “Hi Natasha, We had an amazing time in the bush and I’m so sad to be back home again…. It was everything (and more) that we had imagined, the lodges and staff were great!!! We have seen a lot of animals, 14 individual leopards in total and we’ve seen a wild dog pack twice at Idube. The transfer company “seasons in Africa” was also very good. And yes I met your sister in-law, Leigh!! What a nice lady and she can cook fantastic meals!! From now on we’re going to save money for the next trip, hope it won’t take long… I don’t have the pics on my computer yet, but in the next following days I will send you some. Thanks for arranging a perfect holiday for us!!!!! Kind regards, Petra...

A trip of a lifetime – Guest feedback by Liselle Raath

Liselle sent her guests Ron & Tuan on a safari trip where they stayed at Kwara Camp in Okavango Delta of Botswana, Kwando Lagoon Camp in the Linyanti Reserve of Botswana and Ilala Lodge in the Victoria Falls of Zimbabawe. Ron shared the following guest feedback: “Liselle, I am still jet lagged, but the trip was a trip of a lifetime,  everything went very smoothly and exceeded expectations!!!  I certainly will go back to Africa!! Next time I want to focus on Tanzania;do you handle travel for that area? If so when is the best time to go for the migrations? Both camps exceeded expectations; if anything, we had a slight preference for Lagoon as the lodgings were bigger and the food was  better. We really appreciate your help and have no hesitation in recommending you and asking you to organize another trip for us!!! We also fell in love with Capetown!...

A sight that must be visited once a lifetime – Guest Feedback by Natasha Allan

Natasha prepared a trip for returning guests Mike and Fiona, where they stayed at Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls . Fiona shared the following guest feedback: “Hi Tash, Having travelled to Africa many times, there was one place still on our wish list – Victoria Falls, therefore thanks to Natasha from Sun Safaris for making this wish come true in such great style. We decided on visiting the Zimbabwe side – firstly as everyone states that the falls are more magnificent from this side, and also the town of Victoria Falls is right next to the falls, which are within walking distance. We didn’t want a large hotel to stay in so thanks to Natasha for recommending the Ilala lodge for our 2 nights stay. The lodge was a hidden gem – beautiful setting, wonderful food, friendly staff and a fabulous outlook  of the ‘smoke’ from the falls, I’d highly recommend this lodge, and as a bonus it’s also the closest hotel to the falls, about 5 minutes walk. There was even wildlife in the grounds – a family of warthogs, a bushbuck and plenty of birds. The falls themselves were amazing – well so much so that we can’t put it into words, but just to say that it is a sight that must be visited at least once in your lifetime. A sunset cruise along the mighty Zambezi river, was a beautiful way to finish off our stay. Next we flew back to South Africa and a 6 night stay at our favourite lodge – nThambo Tree Camp in the Klaserie. A wonderful place in the African bushveld, with 5 luxury tents, so always nice and intimate. We are regular visitors here, and as always we had a fabulous time, seeing the big 5 on numerous occasions, plus African wild dogs on 4 separate sightings. The food, company and safari experience again was second to none, so we will definately be back again in May. Thanks, Mike and...
