Jako,

You planned an awesome trip for us.  It exceeded expectations in so many ways.  Tanzania is amazing, and because we were in the low or shoulder season, there were never many vehicles (sometimes there were none) with whom we had to share the animals and landscape.  At Olakira camp, we were the only guests for nights 2 and 3.  That meant the entire staff was at our service.  It was terribly impressive how everyone at Asilia functions as part of one team, no matter what challenges they face.  I would absolutely recommend the Asilia group for anyone you send out on a safari.  Super nice people, and everything was so well planned and executed.  Our guides were very knowledgeable and passionate about the many (big 5 +) animals they found for us and made us feel safe at all times.

Here is a photo with our first guide took us to Lake Manyara (we actually saw many more tree climbing lions in the Serengeti) and the Ngorongoro Crater (pictured in background…in the late afternoon with so many animals out, it looks like the setting for Noah’s Ark.  Seriously.)  At Ubuntu Camp we shared our guide with another couple and he was great.  The food at both camps was delicious.

Everyone was so nice and concerned for our welfare, including bringing dinner to the tent one night when I wasn’t feeling well.  All of our airstrip transfers and flights went off with out a hitch; the Farmhouse was lovely; we wish we ch stayed there on our way back. Or maybe we should have gone to Dar ES, since our flight stopped there on the way back (?!) to Amsterdam.

Once returned to Kili airport, we decided to move our flight one day earlier than scheduled, as there didn’t seem to be any compelling reason to wait 30 hrs and they were going to charge us hundreds of dollars to go anywhere or do anything.  It was a little tricky changing our flights; in retrospect we should have stayed out on safari an extra day.

My girls said it was the best trip we have ever taken; I know we will always cherish the memories of going on such a great adventure together.

Thanks again and best regards,

Karen
