Makakatana Bay Lodge offers guests a unique safari experience in the St. Lucia iSimangaliso Wetland reserve. Safari activities include afternoon game drives and a morning game drive into the wetlands, as well as, boat trips on Lake St. Lucia, morning boat trips after breakfast and a picnic lunch afterwards (weather permitting). Beach safaris depart after breakfast and guests can enjoy a safari drive to the Indian Ocean where guests can swim and enjoy the coastline and a picnic lunch before returning to the lodge for afternoon tea. Hluhluwe and Umfolozi offer Big Five game drives. Wildlife in Hluhluwe Umfolozi include: Elephant, White Rhino, Black Rhino, Leopard, Lion, Buffalo, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Hyena, Giraffe, Zebra, Duiker, Wildebeest, Impala, Reedbuck, Nyala, Kudu, and many other species of game.
