Deception Valley Lodge Introduction
Deception Valley Lodge is situated about 120km south from Maun, adjoining the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Deception Valley Lodge offers luxury as well as one of the best African-Kalahari experiences, where Bushman will share their knowledge and guests can relax in complete comfort. Deception Valley Lodge is surrounded by the unspoilt bush of Africa and all the wildlife that inhabits it.

Deception Valley Lodge Description
Deception Valley Lodge consists of 8 private units, each consisting of a twin bedroom, a lounge and a Victorian style bathroom with an outside shower. Each unit has a deck where guests can enjoy the vastness of the Kalahari bush, stretching for miles in front of you. The lodge also has a Honeymoon tent. The main complex consists of a dining room; lounge and bar area. From the deck guests can view activities at the nearby water hole. A curio shop and small library forms part of the main building. The lodge has a swimming pool situated close to the main complex as well as a boma for night time meals.

A cultural experience with San Bushmen is one experience that will never fade. Activities include game drives in open 4X4 vehicles, night drives to explore the nocturnal species, bird watching, over 200 species, from the deck at the main lodge or in a hide at one of the water holes, nature walks with experienced guides, guided walks with the Bushmen to explore their culture, survival and hunting skills and their extraordinary knowledge of the veldt and animal life, interact with the Bushmen on one of the Cultural walks, specialized guided walks are also available and guests will learn about survival of plant, animal and man in this arid semi desert. Guests can expect to see the rare Kalahari lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, kudu and if lucky, the elusive brown hyena. The night drives in particular will reveal a world of interesting nocturnal species. Deception Valley is a bird watcher's paradise. Nxai Pan Camp
Nxai Pan Camp is one of the only permanent camps in the Nxai Pan National Park. In addition to the chance of seeing large giraffe herds, guests can expect to see numerous springbok and perhaps the endangered wild dog.
Tau Pan Camp
Tau Pan Camp is an excellent new safari option in the Deception Valley area of the Central Kalahari. Guests visiting in the Green Season of December to March each year can expect to see large herds of animals.
Kalahari Plains Camp
Kalahari Plains Camp is one of the few private safari camps in the Deception Valley area of the Central Kalahari. Guests visiting this camp stand the chance of seeing the huge black-maned Kalahari lions.
