How to get there
Sun Safaris can arrange scheduled flights for visitors from most major airports in South Africa to Durban, Johannesburg or Richards Bay from where guests can access the reserve. Guests can choose to self-drive to the reserve on good roads; the drive time will obviously depend on where you are driving from; Sun Safaris arrange a rental car or a road transfer for guests, and private air transfers can be arranged.
Pongola Game Reserve Game Viewing and Activities
Pongola Game Reserve offers superb wildlife viewing and is home to four of the 'Big Five' species (exluding lion). Wildlife includes buffalo, elephant, rhino, leopard, hyena, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, warthog, 12 different antelope species, over 350 bird species and an interesting array of smaller mammal and insect life.
The reserve consists of privately owned land which totals 30 000 hectares including Lake Jozini.
