Earth Hour 2012 – Dare Us To Protect Our Planet

Earth Hour is a global phenomenon where we stand united to support the largest environmental event in history.  On the 31st March 2012 we must switch off our electricity for 1 hour between the hours of 20:30 – 21:30. This my friends, is Earth Hour. The hour in which we take personal responsibility for the planet !

In 2011 more than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries switched off their lights. The team at Sun Safaris , along with millions of organisations and governments around the world, have decided to get involved and actively participate in Earth Hour. The concept of Earth Hour is the brainchild of WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) and the impact has been huge. We’re just hoping to see some great satellite images of the global blackout!

This year, organisations and individuals have the opportunity to challenge others to “dare to save the planet”.  For example, I’ll donate my salary to RSPCA if I can get 100 people to pledge that they’ll start recycling. This pledge to save the planet goes way beyond Earth Hour and it shows how monumental things can be achieved when we come together for a common cause.

We’re looking for solid ideas on what the Sun Safaris team can do for Earth Hour. What do YOU dare us to do?

Let’s get talking about this; we’ll get our fans to pledge a commitment to saving the earth. We’ll take the most reasonable suggestion and post it on our Facebook fan page when our decision has been made. Hopefully we’ll receive enough pledges so we can carry out the dare!
