Introduction

Zarafa Camp is situated in the eastern sector of the Selinda Reserve overlooking the beautiful Zibadianja Lagoon. The extensive views from each and every part of the camp over the floodplains are truly magnificent. Zarafa means "the beloved one" or "the lovely one". The camp is small and luxurious and offers guests a unique safari experience.

Camp Description

Zarafa Camp consists of four spacious and luxuriously appointed double or twin “marquis style” canvas tents that accommodate a maximum of 8 guests. The camp is ideal for small groups who are looking for privacy combined with an incredible wildlife viewing experience. Each one of the tents is positioned along the edge of the forest to take advantage of the spectacular view over the floodplains and savannas, while offering cool shade. Each tent offers a spacious en-suite bathroom with copper bath & shower (as well as an additional outdoor shower for those who prefer the outdoors). The adjoining, comfortable lounge with its private pool rounds off the guest accommodation. There is a large shady veranda with overhead fans, flowing mosquito nets and a beautiful handcrafted copper fireplace between the bathroom and bedroom for the winter months.

Game Viewing

The area around Zarafa offers incredible wildlife viewing opportunities. Abundant plains game can be found here including lechwe, kudu, buffalo, zebra and giraffe. It is also a predator-rich reserve including cheetah, wild dog, lion, and leopard. The massive herds of elephant are another highlight while a wide variety of birds, approximately 300 or more, can be seen in the reserve.
