Wooded Peaks Game Lodge is situated in the Tshwene Valley Gorge in the malaria free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. The lodge is secluded and romantic and offers spectacular scenery and luxury accommodation in this game rich reserve.

Lodge Description

The lodge consists of five log cabins each with a patio, overhead fan and fireplace, as well as twin basins, corner bath, inside and outside showers, bar fridge, hair dryer, mosquito nets, digital safe, nightgowns, electric blankets and tea and coffee making facilities. The main lodge area consists of a well-stocked bar, a cozy lounge and dining area with central fireplace, well-appointed library and conference room. All this leads onto the elevated patio where guests can enjoy majestic views and unforgettable African sunsets.

Game Viewing

Welgevonden Private Game Reserve is a massive scenic wildlife area of 40 000 hectares in size. The Reserve is home to the Big 5, wild dog, cheetah, a variety of antelope, brown hyena, jackal, zebra, giraffe and over 250 different bird species. An experienced guide conduct two game drives daily, an early morning and late afternoon drive. Every game drive is a unique experience, allowing guests to explore the reserve and its wealth of fauna and flora. Game drives and guided bush walks are conducted by accredited rangers and the lodge provides binoculars, blankets and warm ponchos on all drives. Enjoy an early morning stop for tea/coffee in the bush to watch the sunrise and enjoy sundowners on the afternoon drive, the return drive to the lodge is a short night drive with the aid of spotlights.
