Introduction

Toro Yaka, which means "My Dream" in Northern Sotho, is a one-of-a-kind lodge situated in the unforgettably pristine bushveld of Balule, a 30 000 hectare nature conservancy in the Greater Kruger National Park area. Set apart from others by its seclusion, intimacy and privacy, Toro Yaka allows nature lovers to experience wildlife at close proximity.

Lodge Description

The lodge itself is a traditional rustic bush camp, thatched rondavels which are situated amongst beautiful bush trees. The main area is a huge thatched lapa area with an adjoining boma. Six en-suite double or twin rooms equipped with overhead fans, air conditioners and mosquito nets. Beautiful English Colonial decor, all under thatch, ensures luxury accommodation.

Game Viewing

The best way to experience the bush is to get your feet on the ground. Morning guided bush walks gives you the opportunity to get closer to nature and afternoon, sundowner drives extending into the night, afford potential sightings of nocturnal animals. Bird watching is rewarding, with over 350 species recorded in and around the area. Sundowners, whether on game drives or at Toro Yaka Bush Lodge is always a special occasion. Bush picnics and Bush dinners can be arranged on request. Balule Game Reserve is within 1-hour drive from either the Orpen or Phalaborwa gate into Kruger National Park. For the more adventurous guests, there is White water rafting in the Blyde Canyon, Abseiling, Hike up to the Mariepskop Rain forest, a Hot air balloon ride or a Horseback safari.
