Camp Description

Tintswalo is situated along a seasonal river bed amid a grove of ancient sycamores. The exquisite main lodge overlooks a waterhole which is frequently visited by a large herd of elephant and other big game. Wooden walkways link the suites ofTintswalo to the main lodge.

The Tintswalo suites’ decor recalls the pioneer era of the 19th century African explorers. The air-conditioned suites are situated along the banks of the Nwaswitsontso River. Each room provides supreme comfort and privacy, as well as the opportunity to view a variety of big game and birdlife from the privacy of your suite. An indoor/outdoor shower leads from a spacious bathroom which opens out onto a private deck. Guests can seek solace from the African heat in a private plunge pool or just relax on a lounger.

After a full day's exploration in the bush, moments of supreme relaxation and rejuvenation of oneself are a must. The Elan Vitál spa specializes in hands-on treatment for both men and women, and makes use of concentrated plant-based products to stimulate all your senses.

Chefs at Tintswalo are trained in both South African and international cooking styles. Plated meals are served in sophisticated dining areas, including the romantic cellar, and under the dramatic starstudded night sky.

The schedule at Tintswalo is infinitely flexible, as a day's activities are planned around you. A typical day could begin with an early morning game drive followed by a picnic breakfast. Later on, a lazy, al fresco lunch on the main lodge deck and afternoon leisure time allow for a relaxing treatment in the Elan Vital spa. The evening drive continues into the night, completed by Tintswalo's unique and spectacular sundowner experience, rounded off by an intimate candlelit dinner.
