National Park,called the Makuleke Region, The Outpost is
bordered to the north by the Limpopo River and Zimbabwe and to the
east by Crooks Corner and Mozambique, in South Africa.

Camp Description
The Outpost is composed of one large main building and twelve individual living spaces set on a hill side overlooking the Luvuvhu River, all connected by a walkway constructed using Zimbabwean teak. The Main Building and Spaces are cooled by an environmentally friendly evaporative cooling system.
Each guest is treated to the openness and extensive views that characterize The Outpost. The modern bar is a focal point that defines the lounge and dining areas. The lounge is boasts a large book case with an extensive selection of books. This area leads off to the swimming pool deck with large lap pool, where guests may seek solace from the African heat.
Each Space has a contemporary design that makes use of concrete and steel with retractable canvas sliders that offer a 180 degree view of the Luvuvhu River valley. The living area comprises an outdoor terrace, each with daybed, indoor lounge and bedroom offering a king size bed, goose down duvets; all under mosquito netting. The canvas walls of the en-suite bathroom with award winning bath and shower may be opened to afford a full view of the valley below or closed for privacy at the guest requires.
Game Viewing
This particular region measures some 28 000 hectares and is the roaming ground of large herds of elephant and buffalo. The mountainous terrain is home to leopard and the region boasts resident prides of lion. Rhino have been reintroduced and guests visiting The Outpost are very likely to see Nyala and Tsessebe antelope which are not easy to find elsewhere in the Park. The dramatically diverse terrain includes a mosaic of Mopane woodlands, fever tree forests, acacia thickets and some of the largest and oldest Baobab trees.
Guests are offered a choice of a long or short game excursion in the morning and again in the late afternoon which is likely to extend into the early evening. Qualified and experienced guides conduct all game drives in exclusive open-air four wheel-drive vehicles. Game excursions are not restricted to public roads in Kruger National Park and mostly make use of tracks formerly reserved for the use of Park officials.
Those who would like to experience the bush on foot may do so after breakfast or as an alternative to a game drive in the early mornings and late afternoons. Walks take place in parts of the region not accessible to vehicles including the spectacular Lanner Gorge. Bird lovers are sure to enjoy the Makuleke Region, which is renowned for its spectacular bird life. Guests may be able to see Scarlet chested sunbirds, Broadbilled rollers, Redheaded weavers, Wattle- eyed flycatchers and owls such as the Pel's Fishing Owl, the Scops, White-faced, Pearl-Spotted and Giant Eagle Owl.
