Camp Description

Ancient Leadwood and Marula trees fuse in a celebration of contemporary design to create the main lodge. The lounge, dining room and well appointed library lead to broad elevated decks and sweeping views of the landscape.

Amenities located in the main lodge include a curio shop, main lounge, dining room, library, wine cellar, cigar lounge, indoor and outdoor bar, boma, viewing deck, GPRS telescope, TV lounge, kids play room, internet connection and fax services upon request, a main pool and a variety of other elevated decks that all overlook the well-frequented waterhole.

The Royal Madikwe can accommodate 10 guests. Exclusive space provides peace and tranquillity. Crisp, cool linen meets indigenous dark wood to create your luxurious suite. Each suite also has a fireplace as well as a private plunge pool.

The following suite options are available:

4 Luxury Double Suites , furnished with 4-poster bed, mini bar, fireplace, air-conditioning, heater, en-suite bathroom, indoor & outdoor shower, private plunge pool and elevated sundeck.

1 Luxury Twin Suite, furnished with mini bar, fireplace, air-conditioning, heater, en-suite bathroom, indoor & outdoor shower, private plunge pool and elevated sundeck.

1 Luxury Family Suite, situated within the main lodge, consisting of 1 twin room with en-suite shower room and 1 double room with an en-suite bathroom.

Royal Madikwe is unlike other luxury safari destinations and welcomes families with children of all ages. Due to the exclusivity on offer, families can relax and feel at home. Children are stimulated, educated and entertained by their African Bush surroundings and by a warm, friendly team. No set Safari Kid programmes are offered but rather designed on arrival, according to the childrens interests. In addition, nanny services can be arranged prior to arrival. Complementing this, a childrens TV room and childrens menu are also available.

Game Viewing

Malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve is a 76 500 hectare reserve restored from farmland to its natural environment. Each day of your African safari; at the Royal Madikwe is designed entirely by you with the guidance of the managers local knowledge.

The Madikwe Game Reserve is home to a tremendous diversity of fauna and flora. It is home to lion, leopard, over 400 elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, hippo, brown and spotted hyena, giraffe, wild dog, and cheetah. In addition, the expansive grass plains boast gemsbok, springbok, and over 340 species of birds. The camp is a superb walking and open vehicle safari destination where guests are accompanied by well-trained and informative rangers who are able to interpret the many encounters whilst on safari. Both early morning and evening game drives and fascinating bush walks allow guests to truly encounter the African Bushveld.
