Introduction

The Hide is located in a private concession inside the boundaries of the Hwange National Park, one of Africa's premier game parks and Zimbabwe’s largest game reserve. The lodge offers privacy and exclusivity in a wildlife haven. The lodge is famous for its many concealed hides near the waterholes, offering guests the unique opportunity of viewing game in close proximity. The Hide offers guests a safari experience that combines the best game viewing in Zimbabwe in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere; a combination that has earned the camp the vote for “Best Safari Camp in Zimbabwe” more than once.

Camp Description

The camp is small and intimate and can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests. The tents are tastefully decorated and offer guests complete comfort in the bush. Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom, consisting of hot water showers, basins and flush toilets. Each tent has its own private verandah overlooking a waterhole offering unhindered game viewing. A choice of twin and double beds are available. The camp is unfenced from the vlei that runs past it which allows animals to roam freely.

Game Viewing

Hwange National Park is the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe at 14 500 km², offering varied habitats and vegetation types. There are a number of waterholes throughout the Park, where wildlife comes to drink every day, making for excellent game viewing. Elephant, Cape buffalo, sable, roan, southern giraffe, blue wildebeest, impala and sometimes even gemsbok (oryx) can be seen here. This Park is one of the best for predators, lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah are regularly sighted, along with the smaller African wildcat, serval, honey badger, civet and spotted hyaena. Bird life in the area is prolific, with more than 400 species found. The camp offers game drives in the park with experienced professional guides. Night game drives are offered within the private concession.
