Tanzania - When to go

Our Tanzania best time to go guide will assist you when planning your safari. This should be used as a guideline only, as weather patterns and wildlife migrations are never completely predictable and can never be guaranteed at a specific time or in a specific area.

Tanzania's Indian Ocean coast is almost always hot and humid. The highlands have a more temperate climate and the semi-arid central plateau is hot and dry.

Most of the country has two dry seasons and two wet seasons. The dry seasons are broken by the "long rains" (March to May) and the lighter "short rains" (November to December). Many roads become impassable during the rains.
