Camp Description
The camp consists of five twin bedded thatched chalets with en-suite facilities, designed to provide the ultimate in rustic luxury. All chalets have their own private viewing patios. The camp is electricity free with kerosene lamps providing a traditional and romantic safari feel. Cooking is performed on either gas or open fire. The meals include a full breakfast/brunch, high tea, snacks and boma dinner. Wine connoisseurs from the Cape have designed the comprehensive wine list and all dietary and culinary requirements are met at Tangala.
Game Viewing
Game viewing at Tangala is of high standard and compares with the best in the world. Guests can expect to see lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and other general game on game drives. The birdlife in the area is prolific. Two game drives in open vehicles include coffee, tea and snacks in the morning while a romantic sundowner interrupts the night drive. The day begins with a game drive of approximately four hours, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. Guests not only get close to Big Game but also learn to identify birds and trees, taste edible fruit, follow in the footsteps of animals great and small and learn about local bush lore. The night game viewing is an experience of its own. Nocturnal sightings might include bush babies, the elusive genet, or predators hunting and stalking their prey. Lanterns welcome guests back at the camp and guide you along the pathways to the bush boma for an African feast under the southern stars.
