Tanda Tula means 'To love the quiet', is situated amidst 20 000
acres of bushveld adjacent to the Kruger National Park in the Timbavati
Game Reserve, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Tanda Tula Safari Camp is
set among stately trees such as Lead Wood, Knob Thorn and the Jackalberry.
Renowned as one of the most luxurious tented safari camps in South
Africa. Here you will come face to face to nature as it always was,
with not a fence in sight to inhabit your freedom. With a maximum
of 24 guests, personal attention is a matter of course.
Camp Description
Accommodation at Tanda Tula comes in the form of luxuriously appointed
East African style tented suites, each of the tented suite has its
own private timber decks overlooking the riverbed. If you are seeking
exclusivity, you may be interested in the Tandala thatched suite
with its own pool, personal cook, ranger and game-viewing vehicle.
For the more adventurous, sleep outs can be arranged at the hide
overlooking the waterhole at Tanda Tula Safari Camp. Tanda Tula
Safari Camp offers fine international cuisine with an African dimension
- such as medallions of Kudu with mushroom and cheese or carpaccio
of venison, accompanied by fine South African wines. Tanda Tula
Safari Camp dinner is by candle light - set around a traditional
log fire in a boma or a barbecue at the water hole or in the river
bed.
Game Viewing
Offering more than the traditional 2 daily game drives, Tanda Tula
boasts a quality bush experience with numerous options that cater
for guests' individual interests. These include walking trails,
bush walks, sundowner drinks & snacks in the bush, sleep-outs
in a hide, tracking skills, fauna & flora identification, stargazing
in the riverbed and special itineraries are available on request.
Safari vehicles are all new, and have been custom designed by Land
Rover and seat 8 guests in comfort. Guests can expect to see lion,
elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other
general game on game drives. As well as exciting bird watching.
Wildlife activities here enable guests to 'touch, taste and smell'
Africa. Your day begins with a game drive of approximately four
hours, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. Guests not
only get close to Big Game but also learn to identify birds and
trees, taste edible fruit, follow in the footsteps of animals great
and small and learn about local bush lore. Become one with the bush
as you track silently after the spoor of wildlife during game drives.
The night game viewing is an experience of its own. Nocturnal sightings
might include bush babies, the elusive genet, or predators hunting
and stalking their prey.
