Shinde is an intimate Botswana safari camp situated
on the border of the Shinde lagoon. The main camp boasts an exclusive
tree house made of a multi-tiered raised lounge and dining area
set amongst the shade of ebony and mangosteen.

The classic safari tents comprises of eight twin beds each with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water and flushing toilets. All guests’ needs are catered for from mosquito proofing, generated electricity and a private viewing deck through to a handy flashlight. The tents are each strategically positioned to offer the best possible view which boast the Delta’s mysterious waterways and open grasslands. The Shinde camp is on a raised wooden deck built high in the trees to provide views over reed filtered permanent lagoons, supported by beams and gigantic branches. Double accommodation is on offer, but it is generally twin share on comfortable three quarter beds. As a honeymoon option Shinde is a must. Guests are accommodated in the honeymoon tent and revel in a few special touches which include the option of a private breakfast and days can be taken at a more relaxed pace than the usual safari routine. Regrettably Shinde cannot cater for children under the age of 10.
Game Viewing
A diverse range of activities are offered at Shinde, having the perfect location that affords both water and land activities throughout the year. Powerboats or mekoro (traditional canoes) present a chance to experience the fantastic bird, plant and reptile varieties found in the aquatic habitat of the Delta. These canoes take two people seated low down and the guide pushes you along with a wooden pole. This is a very tranquil and peaceful way of touring the Okavango. Game drives are carried out in comfortable, specially designed vehicles together with your own personal guide. Guided walks are also on offer for the more adventurous, walking safaris are a specialty of this area and the best way to get close and personal to the bush.
For the fly fishing devotee, Shinde offers fishing for a variety of species such as tilapia and tiger fish. From May through to November fly and spin fishing is available. Shinde is a wonderful location for fishing as it has water permanently all year round due to the river inlets that lead to the extensive waterways and narrow channels. There are large dry areas so on offer is a brilliant combination of a range of activities to get the most out of your safari. To count there is 450 bird species and 75 mammals. The sighting of the rare Sitatunga antelope is a frequent occurrence here at Shinde as well as seeing large herds of Lechwe and wading elephants.
