Introduction
Sediba Private Game Lodge offers a haven of stylish tranquility and indulgence; all surrounded by Africa in all her majesty. The lodge is situated in the malaria-free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, and is only a three-hour drive or one hour flight from Johannesburg. Welgevonden is a 34 200 ha, privately owned game reserve in the heart of the Waterberg in the Limpopo province of South Africa.
Sediba, meaning spring or source in the traditional Sotho language allows an intimacy with Africa, all within the luxury which the lodge provides.
Each guest is assured personalised attention around the clock; all while indulging in the excellent cuisine prepared by gourmet chefs, and the exclusive vintage wines stocked in the cellar.
Camp Description
Sedibas comprises of two all-suite, namely Letalapa and Letlapa. Guests may stay at either of the two lodges as each provide a similar sense of wellbeing and complete relaxation. These two lodges are joined by a dirt road and are a mere five minute drive apart.
Letlapa means 'rock' lodge, and is situated in a valley hosting a perennial stream that runs through it. Letlapa boasts ten double suites and is the more spectacular of the two due to the epic design and grandiosity of the suites.
Letlapala, on the other hand, is situated on the highest point of the reserve, and offers panoramic views of the surrounding reserve as well as the magnificent African sunrises and sunsets.
Boardwalks, equipped with wheelchair friendly paths link the suites and main lodge to each other. No luxury has been spared at Sediba; and privacy is celebrated by your own outdoor jacuzzi and plunge pool.
After an exhilarating day in the wilderness, return to the Lodge for a touch indulgence and pampering. Sediba is proud of its fully equipped gym and steam room, as well as a health and beauty centre. Relax while enjoying a variety of treatments including aromatherapy, facials, pedicures and massages.
Game Viewing
A world of wildlife awaits guests on game drives that are conducted in open jeeps which allow for an optimal vantage point from which to view the game. These game drives, as well as the bush walks that are offered all take place under the guidance of experienced and knowledgeable rangers. Welgevonden is a private reserve and home to Africas big five, allowing visitors to view game such as elephant, lion and rhino. Game drives are offered twice daily- early morning and afternoon/ evening. Bush walks usually take place after a leisurely breakfast, but can be arranged to suite your preferences.
In addition to the areas abounding game, the Waterberg region is known for a dramatic diversity in vegetation ranging from endless open plains to sheltered rock valleys; all allowing guests to relish in a more intimate encounter with Africas fauna and flora.
