Fly-in Safaris with locally based guides

Some safaris have daily, weekly or set departures all year round, and many of the itineraries are flexible and can be adjusted to suit a guest's particular interests and time frame. Some of these safaris have a guide who travels with the group throughout, and others rely on the excellent guides resident in the camp. The key ingredient in all these safaris is that they involve flying from one camp's airstrip to the next. This flying can become one of the highlights of the safari as one can experience a bird's eye view of the entire area.

Cross-Country/Overland or Canoeing Safaris

Another, more traditional style of safari includes some travel by road or canoe; some accommodation in permanent and/or mobile tented camps; an experienced guide who accompanies the group from the start to the finish, and set departure dates. Individuals and small parties can book onto a particular departure and get the benefit of group pricing. We take a maximum of eight guests on any one of these safaris.

Tailor-Made Safaris

Guests may also wish to tailor-make their own safari. This is our specialty. With the variety of camps and the supporting infrastructure, we can organize just about any safari anywhere in Southern Africa. Discuss your needs and requirements with us and we will usually be able to come up with a safari to suit your specifications.

Privately Guided Safaris

The privately guided safaris are our finest safaris, with each itinerary being tailor-made to suit each group's interests. These superb guides can turn a good safari into a great safari through their exceptional all-round skills. Top quality guides are a rare breed who are committed and dedicated professionals. The enthusiasm they generate is a natural spin-off of their way of life, which rubs off onto their guests' experiences in Africa. These guides can join you on one of our fly-in safaris or, alternatively, we can charter an aircraft for your entire trip and the guide will travel with you. We even have a handful of guides who are also pilots and can guide and fly you throughout your safari. All the safaris we run in this programme are private and each itinerary is customized. There are no scheduled departures. We make certain that the safari's itinerary is perfectly suited to each party's interests and time frame. No two safaris are the same. This service is, however, more expensive.

Special Interest Safaris

Top guides and experts in their particular field lead the safaris and guests are able to learn from these brilliant naturalists. Even though these safaris have a particular topic of interest, we will still savour the fauna and flora of the area to ensure that participants get a great all-round wildlife experience. Many of these Special Interest Safaris have set departure dates. However, we are able to run private tailor-made safaris for small groups to suit those groups' requirements. Although some of these safaris are short, they can be booked on their own or, if guests want to extend, we can always arrange tailor-made extensions to camps and parks to suit your interests.
