Ruckomechi Camp is situated in the heart of the Zambezi Valley on the western boundary of Mana Pools National Park. Ruckomechi Camp offers a magnificent location on the banks of the Zambezi River as well as breathtaking mountain views of the Great Rift Valley. Accommodation is superb and the guiding of very high standard.

Ruckomechi Camp Description

Accommodation at Ruckomechi Camp is offered in nine luxurious en-suite tented units as well as a honeymoon suite all offering spectacular views over the Zambezi River. All tents offer an indoor as well as outdoor shower and a highlight at Ruckomechi is the outdoor 'bath- with-a-view' in a private area with stunning views. The central dining, bar, library and lounge areas face the escarpment and are connected to the rest of the camp by raised wooden walkways minimising the environmental impact. The camp offers a separate deck with a swimming pool for swimming and sun bathing. At night guests can relax on a spacious cushion-strewn star gazing deck.

Ruckomechi Camp Game Viewing

Mana Pools National Park is a World Heritage Site and renowned for offering incredible wildlife viewing especially large numbers of elephant, buffalo, hippo and eland. During the winter months they concentrate along the river. Predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog are productive in the area. The birdlife is fantastic, particularly for both mopane woodland and riverine species with numerous local specials like Collared Palm-Thrush, Racket-tailed Roller, Purple-banded Sunbird and Black-throated Wattle- Eyes. Activities at Ruckomechi Camp include wildlife viewing in open 4x4 vehicles, on motorised pontoon boats, walking safaris as well as from concealed hides in the camp area as well as exciting canoe safaris.
