Chikwenya Camp Game Viewing
Mana Pools National Park is famous for its large numbers of Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo, Lions, Crocodiles and Eland, which concentrate along the river when the waterholes inland dry up during the winter months. Buffalo graze along the river's edges as well as Elephant are abundant. Leopards are common; however they are not seen as often as Lion. Birdlife is superb and many species are found in the area. The Angola Pitta is a birder's top prize; they nest in the area in December. Shelley's Sunbird, Narina Trogon, Livingstone Flycatcher and Western Banded Snake Eagle are some of the summer birding specials. This is a great multi-activity safari camp. Activities include game viewing in open 4x4 vehicles, on boats, on foot, from hides and in canoes.
