Zungulila Camp is situated between Kapamba and Bilimungwe Camps in a remote and quiet corner of the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. The emphasis at Zungulila Camp is on offering guests superb walking safaris accompanied by passionate and experienced guides. Zungulila Camp is small and intimate and accommodates private groups of four or more guests, hence ensuring a personal and private safari experience. Exploring the South Luangwa National Park on foot is the best way to experience this magnificent park and its incredible wildlife. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the area along the Kapamba River through some of the most remote and untamed sections of South Luangwa National Park. Zungulila Camp is a seasonal bush camp and is open from June until October.
Zungulila Description
Zungulila offers a unique location in the South Luangwa National Park. Zungulila offers four large comfortable tents with en-suite facilities. All tents offer private verandas which provide spectacular views of the area and surrounding floodplains. The plain contains a year round natural spring which cuts large pools through the landscape, and to the left of the camp guests can enjoy beautiful views of the Kapamba River. The tents are spacious and cool, built under thatch roofs and all tents provide ample hot and cold running water. Zungulila is known to offer delicious meals as well as braais/barbecues and home-cooked meals.
Zungulila Game Viewing
The South Luangwa National Park has been rated by many as one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in the world and the Luangwa River offers large concentrations of game. The South Luangwa National Park offers incredible birdlife and the diverse vegetation offers the ideal habitat. The Luangwa River is the most integral river system in Africa and is the life blood of the South Luangwa National Park consisting of 9050km2. A big attraction to the park is the famous 'walking safari' and is the best way to explore this magnificent area. The park is home to 60 different animal species and over 400 bird species. Large herds of elephant can frequently be seen on the plains. Buffalo are abundant and spread throughout the valley. An abundance of hippos can frequently be seen along the Luangwa River, between 30 and 70 at a time. Zebra can also be seen in abundance as well as the Thornicroft's Giraffe, unique to Luangwa Valley and plentiful in the park. South Luangwa National Park is home to 14 different antelope species, including the elusive bushbuck, kudu, eland and the impala, duiker, reedbuck, roan, sable, hartebeest, grysbok, klipspringer and Oribi. The South Luangwa National Park has one of the densest populations of leopard in Southern Africa. The park has an active predator population and lions are abundant in the Luangwa.
