Kapani Lodge Description
vKapani Lodge in South Luangwa National Park is an exclusive and private Lodge offering a unique location. Kapani Lodge offers eight standard suites each offering a lounge, bar fridge, overhead fans and walk-in mosquito nets. The two Lagoon Houses are spacious and offer private views; it offers the ideal location for honeymooners or guests looking for a private safari experience. Kapani Lodge is on mains electricity and offers modern amenities. A thatched building in the centre of Kapani offers a lounge and a library providing a cool retreat in summer and many cosy nights in winter are spent in front of the open fire. Weather permitting dinners are served outdoors either on the terrace, the spacious deck, or by the swimming pool. Romantic private dinners can also be arranged. The bar and dining area is situated on a deck overlooking the Kapani Lagoon and lawns.
Kapani Lodge Game Viewing
The South Luangwa National Park is one of Africa's finest wildlife sanctuaries. The Luangwa Valley offers extraordinary wildlife and birdlife and the highest concentration of wildlife in the park is found around the Luangwa River with its rich vegetation. Wildlife includes huge herds of elephants, buffalo and hippo. Sightings of lion and leopard are common. Night drives are one of the highlights of the Luangwa Valley, providing the opportunity of seeing nocturnal animals, particularly leopard. Hyenas are fairly common. The Luangwa River also has a high number of crocodiles. The Park's dominant antelope species are impala and puku, with other antelope seen including the common waterbuck, bushbuck, eland, kudu, grysbok, oribi, reedbuck, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, sable and roan. Unique species such as Thornicroft's giraffe and Cookson's wildebeest can also be seen. South Luangwa National Park is a bird watcher's paradise with over 400 hundred species of birds recorded in the Luangwa. One of the most magnificent birds is the elegant crowned crane, with its golden tufts congregating in large flocks at the salt pans. There is plenty for the birdwatcher to spot, regardless of the season.
